EN. Saturday morning here in Naples was a beautiful sunny day and I took the opportunity to go to the Herculaneum excavations with David.
The excavations of Herculaneum are less famous than Pompei because the smaller , but just for this reason, they are better preserved , and you can see the remains of the ancient city of Herculaneum , buried under a blanket of ash, lapilli and mud during the ‘ eruption of Vesuvius in ’79, along with Pompei , Stabiae and Oplonti .
Found by chance as a result of the excavations for the construction of a well in 1709, archaeological investigations began in Herculaneum in 1738 were expected to last until 1765; resumed in 1823, broke down again in 1875, until a systematic excavation sponsored by Amedeo Maiuri in 1927: most of the finds are housed at the National Archaeological Museum of Naples, while in 2008 the birth of the virtual archaeological museum shows the city before the eruption of Vesuvius.
For the occasion , I wore the Anatomie casual chic travel outfit, lightweight and comfortable , suitable just for a day out in archaeological excavations and museums. The pants are lightweight , stretch fabric that facilitate the movement and do not sweat it (although we are still here on Saturday February 20th there were practically spring ) . At the beginning of the day was a bit chilly so I wore my leather jacket and pashmina Anatomie Louis Vuitton, but I assure you that around noon , I was only in t-shirt and pants! I take this opportunity , also , to inform you of a fantastic promotion on leather jackets on the site Anatomie . Click here to learn more!
